This child-friendly, 10-question questionnaire is designed to help schools find out what pupils in Reception to Year 2 think and feel about Phonics Shed.
The questionnaire gives children an opportunity to share what they enjoy, what they feel confident about and anything they feel they need more support with when learning phonics. The questionnaire contains short, practical tasks for them to apply phonics skills in a more abstract setting. Their responses will help schools to understand pupils’ experiences and ability to apply skills beyond discrete phonics sessions. The questionnaire is designed to be completed by a small sample groups of children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. This is not a replacement for formative and summative assessment within the Phonics Shed progression.
